Introducing the new owners of Homes & Land of Staten Island, Victor M. Gomez and Frank Scire!
Victor M. Gomez, Co-Executive Publisher and Managing Director of the magazine has over fifteen years of experience buying, selling, and renting residential real estate in New York and New Jersey. Gomez started his career in 1989 as a Certified Public Accountant for an international CPA firm, representing clients in the real estate industry in the United States and Europe. In 1999, he joined the finance department of Cohen & Steers Capital Management, Inc, an Investment Advisor specializing in real estate portfolios. Five years later, as Cohen & Steers' Chief Financial Officer, Gomez assisted in taking the company public on the New York Stock Exchange. His partner, Frank Scire, Co-Executive Publisher & Managing Director of Homes & Land of Staten Island, has a passion for advertising and marketing. Scire majored in marketing and advertising in college while working with Gomez in real estate. Scire also has over 10 years of experience working with thousands of clients as co-owner of Continental DJ Entertainment Inc, a professional disc jockey and entertainment company in Brooklyn. In 2006, Gomez and Scire decided to work exclusively in real estate and formed VNF Realty Group, LLC and VNF Realty Group of New Jersey, LLC, real estate development and investment companies.
Looking for an additional real estate related opportunity to build on their real estate and marketing experiences Gomez and Scire acquired Homes & Land of Staten Island in September of 2008. Homes & Land is a perfect fit for us says Scire. The Homes & Land brand has been known across the country for the last thirty five years. This brand is by far second to none in its industry says Scire.
Gomez and Scire bring their passion, work ethic and commitment to Homes & Land of Staten Island. They have come out of the gate by making significant enhancements to the Staten Island edition and bringing the entire offering to an even higher level. As you can see, the magazine has now moved to full color from black and white. Starting with the next issue, each edition will feature spotlight articles highlighting various real estate brokers and agents. They are the first real estate magazine in the local market to do this. There definitely continues to be a strong demand for print publications says Gomez. People love to look at full size, full color magazines. A quality magazine has a very high pass-along rate and a long shelf life Gomez says. Their goal is to create a coffee table book for more people to see. Homes & Land provides a balanced multi-media marketing portfolio to reach all segments of the real estate market place, such as traditionalist, baby boomers and generations X and Y. A large part of their offering is internet based. People looking to find a home, land or even commercial property may view many more additional listings that may not be featured in the magazine on www.HomesAndLand.com. The fact is most internet traffic to a specific website is driven there by one print source or another says Gomez. We offer both solutions in a big way he says.
Gomez and Scire view their business as a partnership with their advertisers. Their entire staff has been certified as Integrated Marketing Specialist to help agents generate more leads, win more listings and most importantly build a strong, recognizable and effective brand. Homes & Land of Staten Island's newly signed agreement with the Staten Island Multiple Listing Service (SIMLS) now allows Homes & Land to obtain their clients' listings from a direct feed from SIMLS. This is a great efficiency we now have in place, saving time all around for agents, brokers and us as well says Gomez.
The magazine's distribution will dramatically increase not only in Staten Island but in Brooklyn and Queens as well with new outdoor boxes, additional indoor distribution points and strategic target direct mail campaigns.
